Did you say " osteopathy " ?

The large family of medicine has at its table a multitude of conventional disciplines but also complementary disciplines including: osteopathy!

Let's start with a little history

Created at the end of the 19th century by Andrew Taylor Still in the United States, osteopathy will quickly be exported to the rest of the world after having proven itself, not without difficulties, in the management of specific pathologies.

This discipline first developed on humans but it was veterinarian Dr Dominique Giniaux who democratized it on horses in Europe in the 1980s. Since then, this practice has been adapted (and its practitioners too) to a multitude of other species such as carnivores, farm animals, chickens but also snakes!

Our principles and our vision

We see the body as a whole , in this way even its most distant components are all related to each other.

Its optimal functioning relies on movement (because movement is life!). Thus, any alteration of this mobility, whether caused by internal factors (development of a pathology for example) or external to the animal (related to its environment and its mode of conduct) will manifest itself via various physical symptoms. that the osteopath will call dysfunctions .

But concretely, during a session, how do you proceed?

Most of the time, we go directly to the animal's place of life, to avoid any disruption due to transport.

We always start (and even if you may not realize it) by very scrupulously observing the animal's living environment and its behavior when we arrive. Because, yes, seeing a stranger land in the middle of his field, Petit Tonnerre would have something to be wary of!

Then, we ask you a thousand and one questions about him, but all this with a very specific goal: to collect the information necessary to understand the problem presented by the animal . This is what makes it possible to orient our care and which can put us in our ears on certain details which are in the end not as innocent as they seem.

We search, by different manipulations, the different dysfunctional areas responsible for the symptoms presented by the animal . To give them back the mobility they deserve and that they find a new youth, we have to our credit an arsenal of quite extraordinary techniques that we will adapt to each individual.

When the end of the session approaches, we will be sure to give you a series of tips and recommendations for the days following the consultation . If your animal needs rehabilitation, we will be happy to put together a tailor-made program for you, without forgetting to adapt it to your professional requirements and to the constraints imposed by your animal's place of life.

In order to have lasting results over time, it is important to establish an osteopathic follow-up schedule for your animal. Do not wait until he is in pain or shows signs of discomfort to call on my services, because above all, osteopathy is a preventive medicine in its own right !
